8 Warriors Compete in State Track Meet

Katz, Middlebrook, Williams and Rabushka participate in two events each.

Though they earned no medals or team points, the boys’ track team sent eight athletes to the State Meet Friday and Saturday at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston with good performances.

Four Warriors—, Donald Middlebrook, Luke Williams and Adam Rabushka—were in a pair of events while four others—Alex Gold, Tristen Nunez, Geoff Heiser and Makoto Bowering—were in one each.

Katz posted the 10th best time in the state in the 110-meter high hurdles with a 14.9 clocking missing out on a medal opportunity by six hundredths of a second. He also anchored Williams, Heiser and Middlebrook to a 1:30.07 time in the 4x200 relay.

Williams and Heiser joined Nunez and Rabushka in the 4x400 relay where they finished in 3:24.9. Rabushka ran to a 39.44 in the 300 intermediate hurdles.

Gold, who also participated in the State Cross Country Meet in November, placed 35th in the 3,200 with a 10:02.48. Bowering ran to a 2:04.10 performance in the 800.
