Boys’ Track Team Fourth at Lyons

Gymnastics squad seventh, Water Polo team falls to Highland Park.

Boys’ Track 

The Final Score:        finished fourth with 80 points in the Lyons Relays

Warriors Star Performers:  Champions were the pole vault trio of Tyler Vajdic, Donald Middlebrook and Brett Freedberg; the discus relays of Justin Manuel, Greg Brown, David Luepke and Casey Spiwak and the sprint medley quartet of Middlebrook, Geoff Heiser, Freedberg, and Tristan Nunez.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       The distance medley relay squad of Shai Farhi, Makoto Bowering, and Alex Gold grabbed second while the triple jump quartet of Luke Williams, Austin Jones, Katz and Tyler Pohn had the highest average in Warrior history.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors compete in the Spartan Relays at 2 p.m. Friday in Northbrook. 

Gymnastics 

The Final Score:        Deerfield-Highland Park finished seventh out of 11 teams at the Niles North Invitational.

Warriors Star Performer:    Doran Zimmerman took ninth in the all around (43.825) including sixth on vault (9.125), ninth on both floor (8.7) and pommel horse (6.6), 11th on the high bar (6.2), 13th on the rings (7.1) and 24th on the parallel bars (6.1).

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Weston Schott earned ninth on the bars (8.35) with Charlie Beevers tied for 20th. Cody Shepard grabbed 15th on the rings (6.8) with Dan Levin tied for 25th (5.8). Jon Lipsky (7.9) was 21st on floor (7.9) with Niko Ugolini tied for 24th (7.4).

Who’s Next:   The Warrior-Giants compete in the Central Suburban League Meet at 6 p.m. Thursday. 

April 23 

Boys’ Water Polo 

The Final Score:        Highland Park 13, Deerfield 

Who’s Next:   The Warriors entertain Schaumburg at 6 p.m. Monday. 

Bottom Line:  The teams exchanged the lead several times and the score was tied with two minutes to go, according to Coach Zach Duffy.
