Caruso Students Graduate Wednesday

Middle school will promote 182 students to high school.

will promote its eighth grade class of 182 students to high school in a ceremony at 7 p.m. today at the auditorium.

Though this annual event is commonly called a graduation from eighth grade it is actually a promotion to high school, according to Deerfield Public Schools District 109 Communication Director Cathy Kedjidjian.

After the students enter the auditorium, everyone in the room will say the Pledge of Allegiance and the orchestra will play the national anthem. District Superintendent Renee Goier will welcome the students and their guests.

The primary speaker will be Caruso eighth grader Benjamin Sachs. After his address, Principal Dale Fisher will present the group to Deerfield High School teacher Susan Johnson who will accept the promoted class.

Before Johnson accepts the class, they will receive their diplomas from and Board member Michael Rosenbaum. The students will be announced by classmates Zaki Naqvi, Aarohi Mahableshwarker and Daniel Rosen.
