CJHS Wins Regional Opener, Makes History

Chicagoland Jewish High School dumps Roycemore, meets Ida Crown Thursday in historic game.

The Final Score:        Chicagoland Jewish High School 79, Roycemore 61 

Tigers’ Star Performers:      Jake Newlander led a balanced scoring attack with 13 points as Daniel Fishbaum and Joshua Silverman added 11 each and Josh Newlander chipped in 10.

Who’s Next:   The Tigers compete for the Regional title against Ida Crown at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Arlington Heights. 

The Bottom Line:      Thursday’s contest is the first time in the history of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) teams from two Jewish parochial schools have met for a Regional championship, according to CJHS Communication Director Tara Seymour. The winner advances to the Moosehart Sectional semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27.
