Dayne, Boss Shake It Up for Community

Shake Week winners announced but the big winners are the schools and parks thanks to Tom & Eddie's Restaurant.

Jordyn Dayne and Cheryl Pelton Boss may have created the best Milk Shake recipes for  but the big winners were the Deerfield Education Foundation and the Deerfield Park Foundation.

As a result of the efforts of Dayne and Boss for creating the best ideas, their creations will be featured the rest of June and the restaurant chain will donate ten percent of all milk shake sales to the two organizations that raise money for the schools and parks in Deerfield.

There were two winners. Dayne entered through and Boss joined the contest through the .

Dayne, a second grader, won her schoolmates, teachers and the school’s staff a coupon for a free shake for her creation of I Want S’more combining graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate.

Boss combined vanilla ice cream, vanilla syrup, vanilla malt, crushed Butter Fingers candy bars and the Tom & Eddie’s M & M Cookie to develop her winner.

“It’s the Kitchen Sink, meaning everything but,” Boss aid. “I’m delighted to have won. I’ve never won anything like this before.” She will receive a free Tom & Eddie’s meal each week for a year.

Park District semifinalists are James Johnson, Michael Shalen, Noelle Snow and the Tucker Gonzalez family. Special mention went to Lexie Kolton and Graeme Cunningham.

Finalists from District 109 were Abby Conway from , Henry Shore and Koby Preston of , Lucas Willet from , India Snow from and Tyler Lewis from . 

Tom Eddie's opened its Deerfield restaurant June 15 of last year. Shake Week was part of its anniversary celebration.
