Deerfield High School Wrestlers Qualify for State Tournament

Three Deerfield High School wrestlers qualified for state at a sectional tournament in Barrington last weekend.

Three Deerfield High School wrestlers qualified for the state wrestling tournament this past weekend after placing third at the Barrington sectional meet, according to IHSA results. 

The following DHS wrestlers will now compete at the state tournament, to be held Feb. 14 to 16 at Assembly Hall in Champaign:

  • Andrew Mehrholtz, a freshman, placed first at 106 pounds.
  • Ari Sapinsley, a senior, placed fourth at 152 pounds.
  • Jim Kirby, a senior, placed fourth at 195 pounds.
