Defense Holds Key for Field Hockey Team

Last Year’s Highlights:         Deerfield had a lot of close games but the young team did not win as many as Coach Stacy Wood had hoped. 

Season Opener:                  The Warriors entertain Glenbrook South at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. 

Top Returning Warriors:     Kezia DiGioia, JoElla Guagliardo, Kate Henry, Emily Block and Rachel Silverman. 

Leading Newcomer:            Hannah Brockstein. 

Season Outlook:                 The Warrior strengths are the team’s defensive game and Silverman, a three veteran varsity goalie, according to Wood. “This year we are going to work on being on the attack to help our offensive game and score more goals,” Wood said.
