DHS Alum Helps Secure Baseball Championship

Andrew Goldstick, of Deerfield, helped lead Washington University to a UAA baseball tournament championship last month.

Deerfield High School alumni Andrew Goldstick, a sophomore at Washington University in St. Louis, recently played on the 2013 University Athletic Association (UAA) Champtionship All-Tournament Baseball Team.

Last month, Goldstick, a shortstop, helped lead Washington University to a 5-3 record and a share of the UAA team title, the program’s fourth conference championship overall and first since 2005.

Goldstick finished the UAA tournament with a .387 batting average (12-for-31), with three doubles, seven runs and four RBIs. He also drew six walks to finish with a .500 on-base percentage, while reaching base in all eight games.

Goldstick led the conference with five stolen bases, while his three doubles was tied for second in the tournament.
