DHS Swimmers Fall to New Trier
Warriors show solid individual performances against defending state champs.

The Final Score: New Trier 134.5, Deerfield 51.5
Warriors’ Star Performers: Ruby Powell won the 50-yard freestyle and the 100 freestyle while Barbara Brottman took the 100 butterfly and Christine Stitcher was the top diver.

Other Notable Warrior Performances: Lauren Kurdzydlo took second in the 500 freestyle and third in the 200. Becca Rosenberg placed second in the 100 breaststroke.
Who’s Next: The Warriors travel to Glenbrook North at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Bottom Line: Powell, Brottman and Stitcher, all qualifiers for the State Meet a year ago, dominated their Trevian opponents. Stitcher took the diving event by 31 points.
