District 109 Displays No Gun Signs
Deerfield schools comply with conceal carry law before it goes into effect Jan. 1.
Deerfield Public Schools District 109 wasted little time posting signs at all Deerfield elementary and middle schools letting anyone with a conceal carry permit know they cannot bring firearms into one of the buildings.
When Illinois’s conceal carry law takes effect Jan. 1, all places where guns are not permitted, like schools, must post a sign making it clear the weapons are not welcome, according to an email from the District. Guns are not permitted in schools, according to the law.
