Deerfield Public Schools District 109 offers the following programs for parents.

Special needs children transition to middle school

Parents and Professionals for Success (PPS), the parent organization dedicated to supporting parents of District 109 students with special needs, is hosting a panel discussion about the transition to middle school at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the District Center.

Join parent mentors from Shepard and Caruso middle schools for a panel discussion about things you can expect when a special needs student transitions from fifth to sixth-grade.

Parent involvement

Do you like to write? Have an interest in fund-raising or event planning? Or do you just have a passion for keeping the kids in our community safe? The organization Parents: The Anti-Drug is looking for more parents from the community to get involved.

Those interested are invited to a breakfast discussion at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23 to learn more. This event will be held at the Deerfield Village Hall.
