Civil Rights Legacy Pilgrimage

North Shore Unitarian Church of Deerfield presents an inspiring educational program on civil rights A community education program welcomes participants to share experiences and explore current opportunities as civil rights students, teachers, activists and allies. What is the significance of Civil Rights history, activism, teaching and learning yesterday and today? Where are we now in the Civil Rights movement?


Social worker and diversity educator Valerie Walker, will share her own journey on the Civil Rights Living Legacy Pilgrimage with testimonies, media images and resources. She will facilitate a discussion of what it means to bear witness and make room for peace in a multicultural world. 


This program is free and open to the public. A free will donation will be accepted to support the Standing on the Side of Love organization, sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Association, www.standingonthesideoflove.org.
