Jordan Abosch wins latest fundraising event for Deerfield High School School Chest.

Jordan Abosch is a mere finalist no more.

Abosch was one of four finalists in the Deerfield Idol competition Thursday as one of the many events this month to raise money for LUNGevity through the Deerfield High School School Chest drive.

When it came time to select Mr. D.H.S. Monday, the crown was placed on Abosch’s head. .

Each participant performed a talent selection in front of a full auditorium and then answered a random question drawn out of a hat in a contest modeled after a traditional beauty pageant.

Other participants included Brett Freedberg, Ethan Cohen, Danny Farber, Michael Lee, Daniel Schneider, Michael Dudek, Scott Plonsker, Zach Wade, Leland Pew and Timmy Shanley. 

The final official event of the School Chest effort will be a Maj Jongg night at 6:30 p.m. today in the cafeteria. The requested donation is $20.

The total raised by this student led effort will be announced Dec. 20 which the drive is complete. Until then, donations can be made online or sent to the school.
