Season Outlook:          The Warriors are returning the core of last year’s team which is one reason Coach Jeff Beaumont is optimistic. “Our experience running as a pack should be a strength,” he said. “We’re facing an uphill battle however as injuries and other commitments collectively limited us in doing as many miles as we should have.”

A drop in Deerfield’s enrollment has placed the Warriors in the Class 2A division this season changing the competition to reach the State Meet. “By no means does that guarantee an easy path to the State meet, but after finishing in the lower half of the hard Schaumburg Sectional the last few years, it will be nice to see different teams at that time of year,” Beaumont said.
