Gold finished 19th in the Schaumburg Sectional Saturday at Busse Woods with a time of $15:36.47 over the three-mile course to lead the Warriors. Deerfield finished 12th as a team with 300 points. Barrington won the title with a score of 91.
Other Warriors competing in the Sectional race were Makoto Bowering, Shai Farhi, Jordan Abosch, Scott Pierce, Michael Fosco and Michael Schraiber.

In the Sectional, Gold shaved 15 seconds off his third place time of 15:51 in the Libertyville Regional on Oct. 22. The Warriors placed fourth in the Regional.
The only other runner from the league’s North Division to qualify for the State Meet is Jonah Hanig of Highland Park.
