Kelsey Leads State Golf Meet

DHS golfer finishes first day of competition one under par in two-way first place tie.

Deerfield High School junior golfer Ian Kelsey fired a one-under par 71 today at the Den in Bloomington to end the first day of the State Tournament in a first-place tie with New Trier’s Jack Junge, according to information on the Illinois High School Association website.

Kelsey plays another round Saturday with the best 36-hole total determining the state champion. .

The other Warrior participant, Colin Davis, completed the day in 86th place with an 85. He too competes again Saturday.

Since Deerfield did not qualify as a squad, the Warriors will not figure in the team standings.
