After a shotgun start where he had not yet recorded a score, Kelsey was crowned co state champion with Junge when Illinois High School Association tournament officials canceled the second day of competition because of weather conditions, according to Assistant Coach Chris Oldeen.

In yesterday’s round, Kelsey made par on the first three holes before a birdie two on the par-three fourth gave him a lead he held until Junge birdied his final hole to move into a tie.
