Deerfield High School gymnastics Coach Carol Myers mentors last home meet in 34-year career.

In 34 years at Deerfield High School, gymnastics Coach Carol Myers has coached a lot of athletes.

When it came time for her to coach her last meet in the Warrior gym Jan. 10, a number of them came to pay tribune.

The current team and a host of former Warriors took time before the meet to honor Myers for the 34 years he has given to the school.

In addition to honoring Myers, the team’s two seniors—Christine Stitcher and Abby Lopata—were singled out for the four years they have spent in the program. Then, the Warriors ended the night with a victory over Glenbrook North. Stitcher’s final home performance secured the win.
