Spartans Win CSL Boys Golf, DHS Second, Giants Third

Glenbrook North's Hardy wins individual crown in playoff with teammate Jan and Deerfield's Kelsey.

Spartans Top Performers:   Nick Hardy and Nick Jan each shot 74.

Warriors’ Star Performers:             Ian Kelsey led Deerfield with a 74 while Jacob Krugman and each added a 78.

Giants Star Performers:       Brandon Nasatir carded a 77 to lead the Giants as Ben Mirman chipped in with a 78.

Other Notable Spartan Performances:       Brian Ohr and Jae Lee both added a 79 to their team’s effort.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Scott Boorstein shot 82 while Colin Davis and Ari Marks added an 83 each.

Other Notable Giant Performances:            Patrick Flavin and Noah Apter fired 80’s while Sam Meitus added an 81.

Who’s Next:   Highland Park and Glenbrook North compete in the Highland Park Invitational at 3:45 p.m. Friday while Deerfield goes to the Vernon Hills Invitational at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. 

The Bottom Line:      Glenbrook North won both the tournament title and the Central Suburban League North Division championship because of its six-stroke victory in the conference meet. With the Warriors, Giants and Spartans each posting 4-1 dual meet league records; they went into Monday’s tournament knowing the squad with the best score would be the champion. The trophy goes to the team with the most points based on all competition. Glenbrook finished with nine, Deerfield eight and Highland Park 7.

In the medal play for the individual league championship, Kelsey, Hardy and Jan all finished the Glencoe Golf Club course in 74 with Hardy emerging from the playoff with the crown.
