Deerfield High School gymnastics team completes undefeated dual meet season with win over Maine West. Hockey squad stops Carmel, 5-3.

Warriors’ Star Performer:   Christine Stitcher won the all around competition with an 8.975 average as well as taking all four individual events. She captured the uneven parallel bars (9.25), floor exercise (9.2), vault (8.65) and balance beam (8.8).

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Leslie Ross finished second on the vault (8.55) and third on the beam (7.95). Ally Perbohner placed second on the bars and Nikki Katz was third on floor (8.3),

Who’s Next:   The Warriors travel to Niles West at 1 p.m. Saturday. 

The Bottom Line:      Deerfield finished its dual meet season with a 7-0 record including 5-0 in the conference. A first place finish at the league meet assures the Warriors of a successful defense of their league title. 

Hockey

The Final Score:        Deerfield 5, Carmel 3.

Warriors’ Star Performers:   Spencer Delman scored two goals.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Steve Mages, Mason Rosenberg and Jack Goldberbger had one goal each.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors entertain CHFS at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 27. 

The Bottom Line:      After falling behind 2-0, Delman led the Deerfield comeback, according to Dylon Field’s Patch blog. The Warriors are now 23-1-4 for the season.
