Soccer 

April 4 

The Final Score:        Deerfield 2, Evanston 1

Warriors Star Performers:  Samara Haas assisted on both goals, one by Margot Sylvan and the other by Amanda Imyak.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Logan Just and Emily Kellow helped out on offense getting behind the Evanston defense while Maddie Otto, Jesse Holloway, Haley Greer, JoElla Guagliardo and Claire Mulert led the defense, according to Coach Rich Grady. Goalie Baily Bradford did more than make saves coming out of the goal when needed to help.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors face York in the opening game of the Pepsi Showdown at noon Saturday in Schaumburg. 

The Bottom Line:      The Warriors grabbed the lead in the fourth minute on Sylvan’s goal and held the Wildkits at bay for 42 minutes before they tied the contest. Imyak gave Deerfield the game winner in the 60th minute. The Warriors are 4-1 for the season. 

Badminton 

April 3 

The Final Score:        Deerfield 8, Lake Park 0; Deerfield 7, Palatine 1 

Warriors Star Performers:  Winning both their singles matches were Cara Silverman, Geri Soren, Nicki Flynn and Erin Church.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Taking both doubles matches were the duos of Katie Frankel and Ally Kolpas, Laura Holzman and Lauren Spungen along with Maddie Wilson and Julia Zazove. The doubles team of Dana Levy and Zoe Sinton chipped in with a win.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors compete in the Wheaton-Warrenville South Invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday. 

Volleyball 

April 4 

The Final Score:        Deerfield defeated Warren, 22-25, 25-21 and 25-22. 

Warriors Star Performers:  John Harlan recorded 24 kills, five blocks, six digs and four aces while Jordan Fine contributed 39 assists, 10 digs, five aces and three blocks. Jake Brody chipped in 24 digs and an ace

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Zach Hara scored 15 kills, six digs, four blocks and an ace while Kenison Ready added 13 kills, four digs, two blocks and an assist. Also helping out were Eric Slepian (nine blocks, six kills, two digs) and Colin Sernick (15 digs, one ace).

Who’s Next:   The Warriors entertain Maine West at 6 p.m. today. 

The Bottom Line:      After dropping the first set, the Warriors battled back for the victory. 

Boy’ Track 

April 3 

The Final Score:        Deerfield competed against Maine South in an unscored meet. 

Warriors Star Performers:  Champions were the 4x800 relay team of Alex Gold, Charles Nash, Jordan Abosch and Patrick Brunk; Chris Douglas (110-meter intermediate hurdles), Joe Newhall (300 intermediate hurdles), Dominick Dibenedetto (shot put) and Garret Ram (triple jump).

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Second place finishes went to Evan Linton (800), Brunk (400), Matt Pigott (300 hurdles and high jump), Jack Sherman (triple jump), Connor Oriot (long jump) and both Donald Middlebrook and Brett Freedberg (pole vault). Placing third were Shai Farhi (3,200 and 1,600), Pigott (110 hurdles), Elan Farhi (800), Gold (400), Aaron Horwitz (300 hurdles), Eric Hernandez (200), Patrick Johnson (shot put), Pigott (triple jump), Sam Modro (long jump) and Paul Phipps (high jump).

Who’s Next:   The Warriors host an eight-team invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday. 

Boys’ Lacrosse 

April 4 

The Final Score:        Deerfield 7, Prairie Ridge 6 

Warriors Star Performers:  Andrew Small and Andrew Dailey scored a pair of goals each.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Henri Beaudoin, Mason Lundberg and Ross Leviton each had a tally.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors entertain Highland Park at 7 p.m. Thursday at Adams Field.

Tennis 

April 4 

The Final Score:        Deerfield 8, Barrington 2 

Warriors Star Performers:  Singles winners were Toby Ma, Jack Kasbeer and Ben Kasbeer.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       The doubles team of Harrison Crist and Noah Rosenblatt, Chris Casati and Lee Ratner, Jared Gupta and Tim Klabjan, Josh Rosenblat and Daniel Polotsky along with Jordan Miller and Harry Skaletsky were victorious.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors compete at the Benet Academy Tournament at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Warriors Star Performers:  Winners for Deerfield were the doubles teams of Chris Casati and Lee Ratner along with the tandem of Jared Gupta and Tim Klabjan.
