Stitcher Leads Athlete of the Week Voting
Warrior gymnast to compete in State Meet Friday. Balloting continues through Saturday.
As gymnast returns to the State Meet Friday and Saturday in Palatine for the second year in a row, she was leading the Patch Athlete of the Week balloting as of 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Of 520 votes cast, Stitcher had 320 with Niles North swimmer Karol Mlynarski in second place with 171. .
Stitcher will compete in the all around competition, floor exercise and uneven parallel bars. She made the top 20 a year ago in the all around event. Patch will preview her performance in the State Meet Friday.

This weekend’s competition will be Stitcher’s . She also finished among Illinois’s 20 best divers in November. A pole vaulter as well, she is a candidate to compete for a state championship in that event too.
