Stitcher Leads Warrior Gymnasts Into New Season

Returning state qualifier will get help from.

Last Year’s Highlights:         The Warriors were 7-2 in dual meet competition and undefeated (5-0) in the Central Suburban League North Division winning the conference crown. Two athletes advanced from the Regionals to Sectionals while one, . 

Top Returning Warriors:     Stitcher returns for her senior season with hopes of a medal in the State Meet. Also returning from last year’s varsity are all league selection Ally Perbohner as well as Nikki Katz, Leslie Ross, Molly Ross and Allison Schneider

Leading Newcomers:            Freshman Emily Berlin is expected to contribute.

Season Opener:                    The Warriors open the season at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday against Vernon Hill in Deerfield. 

Season Outlook:                    Coach Carol Myers believes the team’s experience will be its strength. Stitcher and Colleen Hogan, who graduated, lead the team a year ago but a solid corps of juniors return to make a difference. “Now they will have to count on themselves to lead the team.” Myers said. “I hope they will all step up to the challenge.”
