Tigers Suffer First League Loss

Chicagoland Jewish High School falls to Providence St. Mel in battle for conference supremacy.

The Final Score:        Providence St. Mel 83, Chicagoland Jewish High School 57 

Tigers’ Star Performer:        Jake Newlander of Skokie scored 15 points, grabbed nine rebounds, stole the ball four times, dished out three assist and blocked a pair of shots.

Other Notable Tiger Performances:            Josh Newlander added 10 points, five rebounds and two assists.

The Bottom Line:      The undefeated leaders of the Chicago Prep Conference met in Deerfield Tuesday with the league lead on the line. After getting a quick 7-4 early lead, CJHS fell behind 17-8 at the end of the first quarter as Providence St. Mel built its edge to 42-29 by intermission. The Tigers are now 13-2 for the season and 5-1 in league play.
