Tom & Eddie's Donates to Education Foundation

10 percent of grand opening sales handed over.

The village’s newest restaurant is donating 10 percent of its grand opening sales to the Deerfield Education Foundation (DEF), which nets out to $6,700.

“The generosity of to the Deerfield schools is just incredible," said Cathy Kedjidjian, coordinator of communications and community relations for District 109 and a member of the DEF's board. "Clearly, the entire Deerfield community is as excited to have Tom & Eddie's in town as the DEF is to have the restaurant as a partner.”

The hamburger joint opened its doors to customers last month in Deerfield Square and raised the money for District 109 during its nine day grand opening celebration.

"We believe in supporting our communities," co-owner said. "Each town is so welcoming to us. The least we can do is reciprocate. We could have selected a national charity, but we prefer to lend our support to a local organization whose mission is about students and families."
