Jenn Gambatese offers insights, helps Deerfield High School Theater Program get ready for "All Shook Up."
It's not every day that high school drama and theater students get to learn from a Broadway star but that was the case Monday at .
Jenn Gambatese has starred in seven Broadway plays and musicals, including "All Shook Up," the same musical the DHS Theater Program is putting on this spring. Gambatese made a special visit to Deerfield thanks to long time friend and Deerfield resident Kathy Nathan, who was an investor in Hairspray when Gambatese was part of the cast. While her busy schedule doesn't allow her to make many stops at high schools, Gambatese was happy to help out this time.
"This is one of those full circle kind of moments for me," Gambatese said. "I feel like I'm going back to my beginnings and meeting kids that had the same dreams as I had and letting them know that it is possible to go after them."

Gambatese offered her advice on how to make the musical as successful as possible. She also talked one-on-one with Deerfield senior Samantha Mason, who will be playing the same role as she did in "All Shook Up."
