Warrior Boys’ Cross Country Team Heads to State

Alex Gold places sixth as top five Deerfield runners finish within 42 seconds of each other.

Oct. 27

The Final Score:  1. Belvedere 47, 2. Dixon 95, 3. Deerfield 108, 4. Crystal Lake Central 109, 5. Maple Park, 6. Grayslake Central 185, 7. Vernon Hills 186, 8. Burlington Central 237, 9. Sycamore 243, 10. Prairie Ridge 296, 11. Rockford Boylan, Lakes 338.

Warriors’ Star Performers:             Alex Gold placed sixth overall in the competition in 15:29 to make his second trip to the State Meet. Shai Farhi completed the course in 15:55.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Maor Kramer (16:01.2), Jordan Abosch (16:01.2) and Bryan Rosenberg (16:11.9) also added points for Deerfield.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors compete in the State Meet Nov. 3 in Peoria.

The Bottom Line:      Though Gold finished 26 seconds ahead of his nearest teammate, the top five Warriors were only 42 seconds apart earning the trip to State as a full team effort for the first time in 33 years. "The race was a celebration of training and to see the confidence, strength and fitness pour out of them over three miles is the most rewarding experience any coach can have," Coach Jeremy Kauffman said. "In that moment of nerves and the unknown they fell back to their highest level of training."

There is nothing historical about this house. The historical house was torn down in order to buildRead More a modern house which vaguely resembles the home that was owned by Lyman Wilmot. But calling this new construction "an important part of the history of Deerfield" is a travesty.

Mara, So sorry you feel this way. We feel that this really improves the neighborhood. Tried toRead More keep much of old structure, but Igor's rehab and lack of upkeep, made it impossible. couldn't even keep floors, all warped from water and walls full of mold. City did nothing to stop Igor from combining two distinct properties. I am having a champagne lunch Wed. June 19, 11:30 to 1:30. Would love for you to come and see the house. Maybe that will change your mind. Annette Kalcheim

Annette - my first statement was "beautiful house" so I have no qualms with your outcome -Read More however, this is a re-do, re-creation not the original house. But good luck! I am sure you will find a buyer quickly!
