Boys' lacrosse team tops Blue Devils, 8-4. Badminton squad earns fifth at invitational and softballers tie Hoffman Estates.

Warriors Star Performers:  Jimmy Gwarnicki scored four goals.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Sam Modro, Jimmy Weisbond, Mason Rosenberg and Jack Purdy added a goal each.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors travel to Glenbrook North at 4:30 p.m. April 2. 

The Bottom Line:      Falling behind 4-2 at halftime, Gwarnicki and the rest of the Warriors took control in the second half with six goals for the victory. Deerfield is now 2-2 under new Head Coach Frank Weschler and assistant Rich Martin. 

March 22 

Softball 

The Final Score:        Deerfield 6, Hoffman Estates 6 (Darkness) 

Warriors Star Performer:    Zoey Fishman threw a complete game with nine strikeouts as well as driving in a pair of runs.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Allegra Hoffman connected for a two-run double while Nicki Chamberlain-Simon and Emelia Karkazis had two hits and Emily Shanker crossed the plate twice. 

Who’s Next:   The Warriors play in an invitational in Florida next week. 

The Bottom Line:      Deerfield carried a 6-2 lead into the seventh inning before Hoffman Estates scored four runs to tie the game. Fishman struck out the final batter with the winning run on third to secure the tie for the Warriors. Deerfield is now 1-4-1 for the season. 

March 17 

Badminton 

The Final Score:        The Warriors were fifth out of eight teams at the Hinsdale South Invitational. 

Warriors Star Performers:  Second place finishes went to the B doubles team of Jenna Aronson and Erica Joseph as well as the C Doubles duo of Colleen Hogan and Syd Glassman.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Marissa Levy (B Singles) and Carla Silverman (C Singles) finished third while the B doubles squad of Katie Frankel and Ally Kolpas and the C doubles tandem of Aimee Patterson and Rachel Winter were third as well. 

Who’s Next:   The Warriors entertain Zion Benton at 4:30 p.m. April 2.
