Warrior Girls Win CSL Track Title

Dorfman's two championships pace solid team effort.

The Final Score:        , 2. Highland Park 120, 3. Niles North 103, 4. Glenbrook North 60, 5. Maine East 48, 6. Maine West 23. 

Warriors Star Performers:  won the 200-meter dash (27.5) and the high jump (4-10) while taking second in the 50 (6.82) and the 400 (1:04.2). Megan Petrey took the 55 high hurdles (9.4) and Elizabeth Villano was the 3,200 champion (13.07).

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Second place finishes went to in the pole vault (9-0), Brittany Silvers in the 800 (2:31.7) and Diedre Suri in the 1,600 (5:47.5). Amanda Abell (50 high hurdles, 9.6), Katy McIntyre (shot put, 36-6) and Haley Lloyd (800, 2:32.1) earned third place honors.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors open their outdoor season at 4:30 p.m. April 2 when they  host Maine East and Whitney Young. 

The Bottom Line:      Deerfield successfully defended its indoor Central Suburban League North Division title with solid individual performances as well as a second finish in the four-lap relay and third in the 3,200 relay.
