Warrior Gymnasts Win League Title

The Final Score:        , 2. Glenbrook North 131.68, 3. Maine West 124.78, 5. Niles North 124.38, 5. Highland Park 112.95, 6. Maine East 100.35

Warriors Star Performer:    won the all around title (36.675) as well as taking first in floor exercise (9.425). She was second on the balance beam (9.025), vault (9.225) and uneven parallel bars (9.0).

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Colleen Hogan took third in the all around competition (34.25) as well as third on bars (8.175) while Ally Perbohner was fifth all around (33.148).

Who’s Next:   The Warriors compete in the Deerfield Regional at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. 

The Bottom Line:      Deerfield took its first Central Suburban League North Division crown since 2006 through a strong team effort led by the all around performance of Stitcher, Hogan and Perbohner. Other teams had individual champions but it was an outstanding team effort from everyone that made the difference, according to Coach Carol Myers. 

Bowling

State Tournament:    finished 20th in the State Bowling Tournament Saturday with a two-day total of 2,568 over 12 games. Aaron Horwitz was 63rd with a 2,369. Deerfield did not compete as a team.
