Soccer squad ties Evanston to extend unbeaten string to four games. Girls' track team places third at Prospect.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Hannah Rosin, Amanda Imyak and Claire Mulert came close to scoring for Deerfield, according to Coach Rich Grady.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors play their first round Pepsi Challenge match Tuesday against Wheaton Academy in Wheaton.

The Bottom Line:      Running their unbeaten streak to four games, the Warriors had all the statistical advantages over the Wildkits outshooting them 15-5. Deerfield is now 3-1-4.

Girls’ Track 

The Final Score:        1. Wheaton Warrenville South 146, 2. Prospect 113, 3. Deerfield, Warren 87. 5. Wheeling 71, 6. Rolling Meadows 30, 7. Elk Grove 12, 8. Simeon 11. 

Warriors Star Performers:               The Frosh-Soph 4x100 relay team of Phoebe Block, Alana Hirsch, Jessica Swill and Penelope Danos were the sole first place finishers for Deerfield in this all relay format.  Earning second place honors was the shot put squad of Katy McvIntyre, Liz Pavalon, Abby Lagunov and Maeve Derrig, the 800-medley relay team of Danos, Block, Grace Joseph and Hayley Dorfman as well as the 4x200 quartet of Joseph, Sammi Katz, Amanda Abell and Dorfman..

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Third place medals went to the pole vault team of Christine Stitcher, Haley Johnson, Block and Nikki Katz; the 4x100 quartet of Sammi Katz, Dorfman, Joseph and Jessica Swill; the 4x100 shuttle hurdle squad of Stitcher, Kate Henry, Abell and Megan Petrey as well as the 4x400 unit of Sammi Katz, Brittany Silvers, Shayna Fertig and Joseph.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors tangle with Glenbrook North, Waukegan and Northside College Prep at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in Northbrook. 

The Bottom Line:      All Warrior spring relays finished in the top three out of eight teams to help Deerfield equal last year’s finish. This was a team event with help from a lot of team members making a difference.
