Warriors Star Performers:  Amanda Kellow and Hannah Rosin each scored a goal.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Emily Kellow had an assist and goalie Bailey Bradford had a number of key saves, according to Coach Rich Grady.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors travel to Sycamore at 10 a.m. Saturday in their final encounter of the Pepsi Showdown.

 

Bottom Line:  Maine South took a scored two quick goals in the first half forcing the Warriors to play with three defenders to get back in the game, according to Grady. In the 63rd minute, Rosin tallied Deerfield’s first score on a penalty kick and a minute later Emily Kellow stole the ball and passed to Amanda Kellow to tie the match. The Warriors are 3-3-7 for the season.

 

Badminton

 

The Final Score:        Deerfield 18, Glenbrook North 0

 

Who’s Next:   The Warriors play in the Hinsdale South Invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday.

 

Softball

 

The Final Score:        Highland Park 5, Deerfield 4

Warriors Star Performer:    Nicki Chamberlain-Simon and a RBI double.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Emelia Karkazis had a game tying base hit. Amanda Marks had a hit as well.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors travel to Waukegan at 4:45 p.m. today.

 

Bottom Line:  Trailing 4-0 entering the seventh inning, Deerfield tied the game with a four-run rally keyed by the bats of Karkazis, Chamberlain-Simon and Marks. The Giants won the game with a run in the bottom of the seventh.

 

Tennis

 

The Final Score:        Highland Park 7, Maine West 0

Warriors Star Performers:  Singles winners were Jeremy Jacobson, Tim Kaplan and Zach Keeshin.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       The doubles teams of George Vanderkloot and Andrew Pekin, Noah Rosenblat and Josh Rosenblat, Lee Ratner and Harry Skaletsky and Ben Kasbeer and Jordan Miller were victorious.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors head to the Hinsdale Central Invitational at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

 

Baseball

 

The Final Score:        Maine West 1, Deerfield 0

Warriors Star Performer:    Starting pitcher Paul DeLucia allowed four hits and a single run while striking out two.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Ethan Cohen, Ryan Adkins, Dillon Wallace and Eli Berlin each had hits.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors entertain Warren at 10 a.m. Saturday.

 

Bottom Line:  Maine West scored the game’s only run with two outs in bottom of the fourth. The Warriors are 4-12 for the season.

 

Boys’ Lacrosse

 

The Final Score:        Evanston 9, Deerfield 1

 

Who’s Next:   The Warriors entertain Homewood-Flossmoor at noon Saturday.
