Warrior Track Team Takes First Again

Katz, Middlebrook, Rabuskha and Williams lead the way. Gymnastics squad falls to Glenbrook South.

Boys’ Track 

The Final Score:       , Niles North 116, Lane Tech 110, Glenbrook South 81, Loyola Academy 69, Glenbrook North 23.

Warriors Star Performers:  won the long jump (20-5) and the 110-meter high hurdles (15.36) as well as joining Donald Middlebrook, Luke Williams and Adam Rabushka to take the 4x400 relay (3:29.10). Williams added a victory in the triple jump (41-04) while Rabushka did the same in the 400 (53.8) with Middlebrook second (54.2).

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Austin Jones placed second in both the high jump (5-10) and the triple jump (41-1/2) as did Justin Manuel in the discus (139-09) with Greg Brown third (129-05). Alex Gold earned second in the 1,600 (4:30.98) with Shai Farhi third (4:33.48). The 4x200 relay added second place points and the 4x800 quartet was third. Geoff Heiser was third in the 200 (23.26) while Tyler Vajdic did the same in the pole vault (11-06).

Who’s Next:   The Warriors head to the Lyons Invitational at 4:45 p.m. Friday. 

Gymnastics 

The Final Score:        Glenbrook South 140.2, Deerfield-Highland Park 119.6.

Warrior-Giants Star Performer:     Doran Zimmerman scored 8.8 on vault and 6.6 on the high bars.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Lucas Beslow had a fall on the high bar but still notched one of his best scores of the season, according to Coach Doug Foerch. Nate Weil’s 7.3 was a season best on the Pommel Horse.

Who’s Next:   The Warrior-Giants compete in the Niles North Invitational at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
