Warriors Star Performer:    Brad Holway went 2 – for – 4 at the plate including a two run homer.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Jared Rubin and Zach Wade contributed a hit each.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors entertain Grayslake at 4:30 p.m. today. 

The Bottom Line:      Holway gave the Warriors a 2-0 first inning lead before Maine South answered with three runs in the top of the third to take the edge and hold on for the victory. The Warriors are 8-16 for the season. 

May 4 

The Final Score:        Deerfield 14, Maine East 3. 

Warriors Star Performer:    Starting pitcher Ryan Adkins earned the win with offensive support coming from Ben Browdy and Xander Howritz, who both went 2 – for 3 – at the plate.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Ethan Cohen smacked a double while collecting a pair of hits in four at bats. Jared Rubin homered while the relief pitching of both Dillon Wallace and Joey Miller helped secure the win.

Girls’ Water Polo 

May 4 and 5 

The Final Score:        New Trier 13, Deerfield-Highland Park 6; Evanston 8, Deerfield-Highland Park 4. 

Warriors Star Performers:  Offensive punch was provided by Melissa Barrazza while goalie Kaitlyn Gilbert provided defensive strength.

Who’s Next:   The Warrior Giants meet Palatine at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Palatine Sectional. 

The Bottom Line:      Despite the losses in the Central Suburban League meet, Coach Kyle Iverson felt these were the team’s best performances of the season.
