What Makes DHS Best in Suburbs?

Did Deerfield High School Principal Audris Griffith call it right when she offered an opinion on why the school is Illinois's fifth best?

When Deerfield High School was named the fifth best in Illinois and 181st in the country Tuesday by U.S. News and World report, Principal Audris Griffith opined it was not just the students’ academic prowess that led to the honor.

“I’m always proud of how our students and staff perform,” Deerfield Principal Audris Griffith said when she learned the school was on the list once again. “The students do well academically, in their activities and philanthropically.”

A fundraising record was set for the School Chest and rummage sale this year, the institution has been leading surveys all year and its athletes have won state championships. “The students are learning the roles they will serve in the local community and the global community,” Griffith said.
