Coaches Natasha Klimouk and Dani Takova, from North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics (housed in the Sachs Recreation Center in Deerfield), say, “We are so proud to announce that Gymnast Laura Zeng will represent the United States at the Youth Olympic Games during August, 2014, in China!

Qualification for these games was held at the Junior Pan American Championship in Daytona, Florida earlier in May. Zeng, who is 15 years of age, won 5 Gold Medals! Camilla Feeley, also from our team, was 3rd All Around and got 2 Silver Medals. Ella Nikerina and Liza Merenzon were part of USA Junior Group and they won 2 Gold Medals on Finals and a Bronze for All Around! The technical regulations for Rhythmic Gymnastics allow only one gymnast per country to compete at the Youth Olympics.”

The coaches add, “We are very grateful for all the support from Deerfield Park District and from the staff at Sachs Recreation Center over the past five years. We appreciate everything that has been done. Without the facility and the people who helped us, we wouldn't achieve these results.”
