DHS Football Season Opener Rescheduled Due to Weather

Lightening in the area led to the cancelation of the Deerfield High School match at game time Friday night. The varsity team will play instead Saturday at 11 a.m.

Deerfield High School’s Friday night football season opener against Zion-Benton Township High School was canceled right at game time due to lightening in the area.

The varsity game has been rescheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday morning. The sophomore game is rescheduled for tomorrow as well. The time of that game was not yet clear.

Security had ben keeping fans in the parking lot until the school decided what to do about the bad weather so there was no one in the stands at the time of the cancelation.
