Coach Mayer is most deserving of this nomination. He has a great deal of respect for the game of baseball and for the players he coaches each season. Dan is more than a baseball coach; he is a mentor who looks to teach his players life lessons they will take with them long after their days on the field have ended”, stated Adam Gold Co-Director of Travel Baseball (DYBA).

The 50 finalists embody the Double-Goal Coach model of striving to win, while also pursuing the more important goal of teaching life lessons through sports to develop "Better Athletes, Better People."
