New Winter Solstice BIATHLON event at Sachs Recreation Center

A new Winter Solstice Biathlon event takes place on Tuesday, December 21, 6:30-9:00 p.m. at Sachs Recreation Center (SRC), 455 Lake Cook Road, in Deer Park Plaza, Deerfield. Everyone in high school or older is invited to participate in this 1 mile run – 400-yard swim – 3 mile run event.  Event Coordinators Tim Johnson (Fitness Manager at SRC) and Coho Swim Team Coach Jacob Weber challenge, "It's the longest night of the year! You have time; what's your excuse? Your event fee of just $20 (for SRC Members) or $25 (for SRC NonMembers) features a fun night of competition to help stay focused for the spring/summer racing season. There will be prizes for the top finishers, refreshments for all; and who wouldn't be pumped for a chance to receive 'Retro' Tinman Triathlon T-Shirts?"

Check-in takes place between 6:15 and 6:30 p.m. Athletes will run in four waves: 6:45, 7:15, 7:45 and 8:15 p.m. The registration deadline is December 15; and, after the deadline, each participant will be notified of their start time. Everyone must check in by 6:30 sharp! The last three-mile run group starts at 8:45 p.m. There is no transition timing. Each segment will be timed separately and the three times will be added together for final results. Prizes will be awarded for top adult male, adult female and high school top finishers. If the top finisher is in high school, then the next top high school finisher will receive the high school top prize. Register early for the best prices!

Flyer/Registration Form may be downloaded from www.teamcoho.org or www.dfpd.org. For more information, please contact Jacob at Jacob@teamcoho.org or call 847-572-2625.
