Tinman Triathlon – for Youth (10 and up), Teens & Adults

The Tinman Triathlon, set for Saturday, June 11, at Deerspring Park, 200 Deerfield Road in Deerfield, is designed for both the experienced triathlete and the beginning participant. There is enough to challenge competitors of all levels. Athletes ages 10 years through adult are welcome to participate. There are no age group awards; everyone who finishes is a winner. Participant numbers are issued in advance based on submitted swim times, and competitors will start the swim in numerical order.

The 300-meter swim consists of 6 lengths in a 50 meter pool. After the swim is the 6-mile bike leg. Helmets are required for the bike portion of the race. The final stage is a 3-mile run. Fees are as follows: On or before June 9: $30 for Deerfield Park District residents/$35 for nonresidents. After June 9, fees are $35 and $40 respectively. Race fee includes Triathlon T-Shirt, race packet and refreshments.

This event is a great way to get in shape for some of the more ambitious triathlons in the area. We warmly welcome your participation and hope you will make this event a must on your yearly athletic calendar. Race check-in is at 7:00 a.m.; Pre-Race Instructions are at 7:45 a.m.; and the Race Begins  at 8:00 a.m. Registrations will be accepted on race day if there is room. To sign up on race day, participants must register by 7:30 a.m. Racers not checked in by 7:30 a.m., on the day of the race, will be replaced by someone on the waiting list.
