Deerfield High School gymnast Christine Stitcher competed this weekend in the final state championship meet of her high school career, finishing 31st in the all-around competition in Palatine. She finished 30th on the vault and 26th on the uneven parallel bars.

will end a gymnastics career that has occupied more than two thirds of her young life. It's also the end of an era for her coach, Carol Myers, who will conclude a 34-year run as a coach and teacher at Deerfield High School.
