Tennis, boys' lacrosse, soccer, gymnastics badminton, volleyball and gymnastics teams all show achievements.

April 20 

Tennis 

The Final Score:        1. Hinsdale Central 37, 2. New Trier 23.5, 3. Deerfield 17, 4. Barrington 14, 5. Lyons 13.5, 6. Neuqua Valley 11.5, 7. Oak Park 9.5, 8. Highland Park 7.

Warriors Star Performers:              Toby Ma finished third in No. 1 singles with Jack Kasbeer fourth. Ma defeated Kasbeer in the third-place match.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Andrew Pekin and Sam Sylvan (No. 3 Doubles) along with Lee Ratner and Zach Keeshin (No. 4 Doubles) earned third-place points. The duo of George Vanderkloot and Bryan Rosenberg took fourth while the tandem of Harrison Crist and Noah Rosenblatt placed sixth.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors entertain Maine West at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. 

Boys’ Lacrosse 

The Final Score:        Deerfield 14, Homewood-Flossmoor 3 

Warriors Star Performers:              Andrew Small scored four goals and Evan Kedjidjian had 10 saves in goal.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Henri Beaudoin, Mike Puccio, Jack Purdy, Ben Singer and Robert Jakubek had a pair of goals each.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors travel to Cary Grove at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. 

Badminton 

The Final Score:        Deerfield competed in the Hinsdale South Invitational. 

Warriors Star Performer:                Cara Silverman was the singles champion of the B bracket.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Gerri Soren and Marissa Levy placed second in the B bracket doubles competition.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors travel to Evanston at 4:30 p.m. today. 

Volleyball 

The Final Score:        Deerfield defeated Oak Lawn, 25-7, 25-14 (5th Place); Deerfield defeated Barrington, 25-17, 25-19 (consolation semi final); New Trier defeated Deerfield, 25-21, 27-25 (Quarterfinal), Deerfield defeated Niles North, 25-19, 25-20 and Glenbrook South, 25-16, 27-25 (pool play). 

Warriors Star Performers:              Zach Hara logged 42 kill, 40 digs, six aces and 2 ½ blocks. Jordan Fine handed out 106 assists along with chipping in 12 digs and six kills while John Harlan added 35 kills, 35 digs, four blocks and an ace.

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Kenison Ready contributed 18 kills, four digs and 2 ½ blocks while Eli Schmidt added 17 kills, 14 digs, five aces and four blocks. Jake Brody helped out with 34 digs and three aces while Eric Slepian had 10 kills, nine digs and 1 ½ blocks.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors entertain Niles North at 6 p.m. Tuesday. 

The Bottom Line:      Deerfield finished fifth in the top bracket losing only to champion New Trier. 

April 19 

Soccer 

The Final Score:        Deerfield 2, Northside College Prep 0 

Warriors Star Performers:   Claire Mulert and Jesse Holloway scored the two goals and Bailey Bradford had four save to record her fourth shutout of the season. 

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Emily Kellow and Samara Haas assisted on the two scores. 

Who’s Next:   The Warriors travel to Niles North at 7 p.m. Tuesday. 

The Bottom Line:      Deerfield outshot the Mustangs 40-4 but did not dent the scoreboard until the 52nd minute when Haas sent a corner kick Mulert’s way and she put it into the net. Deerfield added insurance 13 minutes later as Kellow passed the ball to Holloway who notched her first varsity goal. 

Gymnastics 

The Final Score:        1. Buffalo Grove 151, 2. Glenbrook North 149, 3. Mundelein 146.2, 4. Glenbrook South 143.7, 5. Niles West 139.8, 6. Deerfield 130.3, 7. Niles North 120, 8. Highland Park 115, 9. Rolling Meadows 113, 10. Fenton 100.9, 11. Elk Grove 93.4, 12. Evanston 86.35. 

Warriors Star Performer:                Brian Spinello finished eighth in the all around (46.35) on the strength of third place on floor exercise (9.25) sixth on the parallel bars (8.9) and seventh on vault (9.0).

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Jeff Spinello placed 10th in the all around competition (43.3) as well as ninth on the horizontal bars (7.85) while Alex Cimaglia was 13th in the all around (39.25) and sixth on the parallel bars (8.9).

Who’s Next:   The Warriors compete in the Central Suburban League Meet at 6 p.m. Friday at Glenbrook North. 

The Bottom Line:      Deerfield posted its best team score of the year by five points.
