VIDEO: Lady Warriors Capture CSL North Track Title

Deerfield senior Allie Boudreau wins four events, leads Warriors to second conference title in three years.

The girls track team left no doubt that they are the top team in the Central Suburban League North.  Not only did they win their second conference title in three years Friday night, they did it in a landslide, racking up 185 points and topping second place Niles North by 66.5 points.

"Everyone wanted to win," Deerfield senior Tara Hanusa said.  "We won the indoor (conference title) for the first time ever.  We didn't want to get cocky, but we were confident that we were going to come out here and show people what we've been doing."

Deerfield senior Allie Boudreau racked up 40 points by herself, winning the 100, the 100 hurdles, the 200, and the 300 hurdles.  Boudreau has qualified for state the last two seasons in the 300 hurdles and tied her personal record time of 46 seconds flat on Friday night.

"I worked very hard in the off season to make sure that senior year was my best year," Boudreau said.

"I shouldn't be impressed anymore because every week she [Boudreau] does something that she's never done before," Deerfield Head Coach Jeff Beaumont said.  "But still it shocks me every time."

Boudreau will be joining the track and field team at Illinois Wesleyan next year, looking to help add to a team that is the defending division-III national champion.  But first she will look to get back to state at next weekend's Buffalo Grove sectional.

"I think it's a good place to be in that I'm already past the state qualifying time," Boudreau said.  "With more competition next week, I should definitely cut another second."

The Warriors dominated as a team from start to finish, taking first place in 11 of 18 events.  For a complete recap of all the action, click on the video link above.
