VIDEO: Young Warrior Golf Team Shows Continued Improvement

With just one returning senior, the Deerfield girls golf team is learning how to drop its scores.

If there's one thing the girls golf team is lacking, it's experience. After graduating nine seniors from last year's team, the Warriors now have a varsity roster filled with underclassmen.

"We're bringing in a large group of freshman and we only have one senior on varsity," Head Coach Tim Bleck said. "So it's definitely been a challenge but they're a great group to work with."

The team's hard work is starting to show significant results. Despite losing to Highland Park on Tuesday (159-185), the Warriors posted their lowest team score of the season (185), dropping 22 strokes since the beginning of the season.

Team Captain Stephanie Korompilas is the lone senior on the team. She is joined by juniors Charlie Saul and Jacqueline Waterhouse, sophomores Carrie Trepani and Anna Cohen, and freshman Lauren Kelsey.
