Warrior Boys Upend Glenbrook South

Deerfield High School boys' basketball team wins fourth game in five starts.

Taking a first quarter lead and never looking back, Deerfield High School’s boys’ basketball team defeated Glenbrook South, 52-43, in a Central Suburban League crossover game Tuesday in Glenview.

Deerfield ran out to a 13-9 lead at the end of the first period building it to 28-15 by intermission. In the third quarter, the Titans surged briefly narrowing the gap to 37-31 before Deerfield squelched the rally in the fourth quarter.

Eric Porter connected on three three-point shots to lead the Warriors with 14 points, four steals, a pair of rebounds and an assist. Patrick Burns added 10 points on 55 percent shooting from the field and stole the ball four times as well.

Stefanos Fasianos contributed seven points and five rebounds as well as four assists and two steals. Michael Alfieri helped out with six points, five rebounds and three blocks.

Deerfield is now 4-1 for the season and entertains Township High School District 113 rival Highland Park at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
