Glenrook South Hands Warriors Second Straight Loss

Glenbrook South beat the Deerfield High School's football team, 48-0 Thursday night.

Glenbrook South's High School's football team wasted no time in its Thursday night victory at Deerfield High School, scoring on their first offensive play with a 65-yard run by Steven Schroeder. They went on to defeat the Warriors 48-0.

"We faced a very good team," Deerfield High School Coach Steve Winiecki said after the game. "That's a team that's going to do a lot of good things."

The Titans remained intimidating, scoring with a 25-yard pass a minute and half into the second quarter. In their next offensive play, GBS wide receiver Cody Carroll scored with a 54-yard run.

Deerfield never quite recovered from that, moving three yards back in their next offensive play. Their defense struggling just as much, letting the Titans get within seven yards of the end zone where defensive back Brett Laurie ran it in to give GBS a 41-0 lead in the first half.

Laurie stole the show on Thursday, scoring four touchdowns for the Titans.
