DYBA (Deerfield Youth Baseball Association) has recently scored a big win on the technological front, adding dedicated “Team-Pages” to its website for all of its Deerfield Warriors Travel Baseball teams.
New for 2013, the 8U through 14U Team-Pages will contain full communication capabilities, as well as easy access to schedules, calendars, rosters, standings, news posts and game results.
“This project was made possible through the vision and efforts of several of our hard-working volunteers. A lot of community programs talk about doing stuff like this, but Deerfield went to work and got it done,” said Paul Chanan, DYBA’s Co-Director of Travel Baseball. DYBA’s new Director of Technology Greg Geren, as well as Managers Todd Rubin and Gregg Orloff, did much of the heavy lifting, but the upkeep of each team’s page will be the daily responsibility of the individual Coaches and Team Coordinators. “This will add some more off-field responsibilities for our coaches, but our guys live and breath Deerfield Baseball April through July, so it’s really a labor of love” added Chanan. “Plus, the pages look really cool, so we know the kids are going to love it!”
DYBA feels that the enhancements to its website will bring the program even closer together, will make communication to team parents much easier, and will be something that players, parents, and the community alike will be very excited to follow on a daily basis. “If our goal was to create something that showcases our players, coaches and teams, while at the same time providing all the functionality that baseball teams need to operate effectively, than our mission was accomplished,” according to DYBA’s Commissioner Lew Bricker. “It’s a huge win.”
