Lake County Fair: On the Midway

New rides and old standby favorites at the Lake County Fair, July 25-29.

Just one of the many aspects of the Lake County Fair is the midway filled with more than twenty rides for kids of all ages. Those rides are being assembled to prepare for the fair July 25-29.

DRS Skinner Amusements of Marengo has put up the rides at the Fair since its inception 84 years ago. They have forty full- and part-time employees.

"We're loyal to them and they are loyal to us," said Pat Skinner, owner of the company, which does 25 festivals and three fairs each summer, including the McHenry and Boone County Fairs.
