Deerfield Road Crash Sends 9 to Hospitals

(Update at 8:30 p.m.) Nine passengers on a bus were taken to at least four area hospitals with minor injuries after the vehicle in which they were riding collided with three cars near the intersection of Deerfield Road and Milwaukee Avenue in Riverwoods.

“Nine persons were transported, all with minor injuries,” Lincolnshire Fire Department Battalion Chief Duane Christiansen said. The bus was from the Greek American Rehabilitation &
Care Center in Wheeling. A spokesperson for the organization gave no further details.

The hospitals included Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Lake Forest Hospital and Highland Park Hospital, according to Christensen.

(Earlier at 5:45 p.m.) At least four ambulances have been sent to a multiple vehicle crash today near the intersection of Deerfield Road and Milwaukee Avenue in Lincolnshire, according to a report from Current Incident Notification Services.

According to the reports, three cars and a bus collided near the intersection. Patch will publish updates as we have them.

Lake County Passage also reports that there are traffic delays on northbound Route 45, south of Deerfield Road, due to the crash.
