Moriah Preschool Benefits From Lemonade Stand
It was a Mother's Day delight: chocolate chip cookies, lemonade and free advice.
Did everyone enjoy the celebratory Mother's Day weather?
Some took the opportunity for a seasonal lemonade stand and the beneficiary was the Moriah Early Childhood Center in Deerfield. The Glencoe early childhood business is helping to pay for for playground renovations for Moriah.
At 50 cents a drink and 50 cents a cookie — with advice on the side for free — business was undeniable.

"We are actually matching every dollar the kids raised and then adding a little more," said Rebecca Hoffman, mother of Abby, 5. "The money will be used to purchase equipment for the park the very youngest children use at Moriah. The idea for the lemonade stand was to fulfill a promise the eldest kids at Moriah make to do a "birthday mitzvah" which means a good deed for the community."
